Job Summary

The Community Paediatric service identifies, assesses, diagnoses, and manages the health needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years. The Neurodevelopmental Nurses form a valuable part of this team working in partnership with their Community Paediatric colleagues.

The post holder will be supporting in the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions, predominantly Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and also in the ongoing management of ADHD and medication management of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

The focus of the work will be working autonomously within a range of outpatient settings offering evidence-based advice and treatment, collaboratively with young people and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Work in line with the assessment and management pathways for children and young people with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
  2. Have a commitment to an integrated approach with the child and family at the centre.
  3. Ability to work independently, managing own caseload, whilst being accountable to the Community Paediatric team.
