Job Title: Snr Design Engineer

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent / Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Snr Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Optima UK Inc Ltd.

Main Responsibilities:

- Design and oversee special purpose machine projects from order acceptance to customer hand over

- Be responsible for the design and detailing of projects

- Be part of a team dedicated to delivering projects to plan and to budget

- Assess and improve design concepts along with a team at sales quotation stage to reduce risks, costs and lead times

- Conduct project reviews with customers on a periodic basis

- Negotiate with external suppliers and obtain the most cost-efficient materials in line with project budgets and time plans

Requirements:

- Degree qualified / HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline

- Experience in mechanical design role ideally related to automation machinery

- Competence in mechanical design, robotics, automation, design of mechanical mechanisms and pneumatic systems would be an advantage

- Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully delivering mechanical design projects to required timescale and budget

- Knowledge and understanding of the various national and international standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE mark machine systems
