The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a diverse range of needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and non-verbal communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualised learning and care plans for pupils with complex needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to support pupils in classroom activities, ensuring they can engage and participate fully.
  • Provide personal care and support to pupils, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and social development in pupils.
  • Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, and adjusting support strategies as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with SEN pupils
  • Active DBS on the update service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team
