Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Engineer to support our clients across the UK. The successful candidate will oversee commissioning activities, contribute to all O&M tasks, and provide expertise on scope of design, works, testing, and maintenance throughout all stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety is the highest priority and verify emergency shutdown procedures, grounding, and protective measures.
  • Provide oversight, input, and expertise on scope of design, works, testing, and maintenance throughout all stages of the project.
  • Accurately document commissioning reports, record test results, and document any modifications made during the process.
  • Oversee and supervise system testing and verification activities to ensure electro-mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Support bid teams in establishing required operations and maintenance activities and costs for new contracts and existing contract renewals.
  • Advise on entire maintenance aspect, including local safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Support preparation of annual operating budgets and ongoing management of project finances.
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, hazards, and risks associated with plant, and strategies for management.
  • Effective communication at all levels with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to self-start and self-manage tasks as highly organized, excellent planner, and solutions-oriented.
  • Highly experienced using engineering IT systems, including work and asset management, metering, and building management systems.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Qualifications
  • HND/HNC or equivalent in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with exposure to operations and maintenance within industrial and commercial sectors.
  • Commercially aware with experience of negotiating with equipment suppliers and installation contractors.
