About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital as a Child Health Advanced Pharmacist. This is a one-year fixed-term position that will provide an opportunity to work in a supportive pharmacy team and contribute to the development of the pharmacy service in child health.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide expert advice to consultants and senior managers on medicines issues in the Child Health directorate.
  • To lead the development and implementation of medicine-related guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • To participate in the Clinical/Advisory Pharmacy Service and provide information, advice, and guidance on the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines.
  • To record clinical activity and monitor the outcome of advice provided.
  • To implement countywide and local prescribing strategies within the Child Health specialties.
  • To undertake ADR reporting where necessary.
About the Team

The pharmacy team at Northampton General Hospital is highly respected in the child health directorate and is committed to providing excellent patient care. As a Child Health Advanced Pharmacist, you will be an important member of this team and will have the opportunity to work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement initiatives that improve patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • Masters Degree, MPharm
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Mandatory CPD Portfolio
  • Independent prescribing or willing to work towards Independent Prescribing qualification
