Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our pharmacy team at Northampton General Hospital as a Senior Paediatric Pharmacist. We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to support the pharmacy team working in child health/paediatrics.

About the Role

As a Senior Paediatric Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing a personal pharmacy service to the child health team, supporting work and developing initiatives. This may include prescribing, specialist pharmacist input for neonatal and paediatric parenteral nutrition, attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings, neonatal care, governance work including preparation of guidelines.

Main Duties
  1. Be a 'Child Health Advanced Pharmacist', ensuring that the Child Health directorate have the pharmaceutical support and information necessary to manage medicine cost-effectively.
  2. Support the Directorate in developing the Service, including deputising for the Lead Pharmacist, Child Health, leading the development and implementation of medicine-related guidelines, policies and procedures, and leading pharmaceutical developments within the specialist area.
  3. Produce quarterly reports summarising the Directorate's activities and achievements, monitor interventions in treatment to identify training and information needs, and provide training to Directorate staff.

Person Specification

We are looking for a pharmacist with a Masters Degree, MPharm and Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council. You will also need a Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent and a Mandatory CPD Portfolio. Independent prescribing or willingness to work towards Independent Prescribing qualification is also essential.
