Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 15-month fixed-term opportunity to cover maternity leave in our Sunderland South community treatment team.

The successful candidate will work closely with a well-established team to provide specialist assessments and psychological therapy to individuals with complex mental health difficulties. Opportunities exist to contribute to our extensive training program and develop your Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You will be supported by a senior psychologist/psychological therapist and professionally supervised by a consultant clinical psychologist.

Main Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role involve conducting one-to-one assessments, therapy, and group interventions. Additional tasks such as supervision and training may be considered based on need and experience. Regular supervision and ongoing CPD opportunities are available.

Requirements

  • A recognized Honours Degree in Psychology or a related field, with post-graduate qualifications in psychological assessment and therapy.
  • Experience in psychological therapy, including assessment, formulation, and interventions, with a focus on evidence-based models and diverse client populations.
  • Experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision, with a strong understanding of cultural contexts and primary care settings.
  • Skills in working with individuals with interpersonal/relational difficulties, with training in Clinical Supervision.
