About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team at Southern Scientific Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative electronic hardware and firmware solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new electronic hardware and firmware solutions in line with product requirements
  • Collaborate with other team members to manage integration, problem-solving, and peer review
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of new product developments to ensure robust and comprehensive solutions
  • Apply project management processes and maintain documentary records for safekeeping and traceability
Requirements
  • Relevant industry experience working in an engineering team
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or equivalent
  • Experience in embedded programming, electronics prototyping, and component-level fault finding
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Prepared to travel between our UK sites (monthly visits)
  • Knowledge of nuclear physics concepts and common instrumentation design
  • C and/or C++ programming experience, with knowledge of FPGAs and/or Digital Hardware Description
