Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Jean Hayes Reablement Unit. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to helping others achieve their fullest potential.

The Jean Hayes Reablement Unit is part of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a major acute trust serving the people of Wigan and Leigh. The trust is dedicated to providing the best possible healthcare for the local population.

As a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist on our bank, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients. You will be responsible for assessing patients, delegating work to therapy practitioners, and working collaboratively with physiotherapy and nursing staff.

Main Duties

Assessment of patients on the reablement unit, including mobility, functional assessments, and cognitive assessments.

Assessing for and ordering of appropriate equipment.

Delegation of appropriate work to therapy practitioners.

Multidisciplinary working with physiotherapy and nursing staff.

Discharge planning, including liaison with relatives and external agencies.

Completing timely referrals to appropriate teams to facilitate discharges.
