Job Title: Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist

Grade: Band 6

Department: Jean Hayes Reablement Unit

Location: Leigh Infirmary, The Avenue, Leigh, WN7 1HS

Trust: Wrighton, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £19.38

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Jean Hayes Reablement Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the unit's success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients on the reablement unit, including mobility, functional assessments, and cognitive assessments.
  • Assess for and order appropriate equipment.
  • Delegate work to Therapy Practitioners.
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapy and nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans, including liaison with relatives and external agencies.
  • Complete timely referrals to appropriate teams to facilitate discharges.

Requirements:

  • Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience (Occupational Therapy Degree/Physiotherapy Degree)
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working within the NHS
