About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste management facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive engineering activities to deliver operational excellence and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance plant availability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of high engineering, compliance, and health and safety standards.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure effective repairs and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Engineering Qualification Level 3 City and Guilds/NVQ or equivalent.
  • Previous health and safety training, IOSH.
  • HNC/D Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
  • IOSHH Managing Safely (desirable).
  • Supervisory experience.
  • DSEAR Awareness (desirable).
  • Proven welding experience (desirable).
