Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Procurement in providing the business with exceptional procurement services, driving value and improving efficiency.
  • Liaise between suppliers, internal departments, and customers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Identify potential new suppliers, visit existing suppliers, and build and maintain strong relationships to drive business growth.
  • Negotiate and agree new contracts with suppliers, including discount structures and volume rebates, and monitor their progress to ensure optimal results.
  • Contribute to decarbonisation targets by working with suppliers to reduce carbon emissions and develop sustainable procurement practices.
  • Liaise with the planning team and communicate any supply issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities to inform business decisions.
  • Present market analysis and growth opportunities to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement the company's procurement strategy in conjunction with the Procurement and Logistics Manager, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors, ensuring the best value for the business.

Requirements:

  • A CIPS level 3 qualification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in buying, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • High-level competence in the use of MS Excel and experience with MRP systems.
  • Proactive, positive, and highly motivated individual with a drive to succeed as part of a team.

Package:

  • Salary up to £45,000.
  • Full-time Monday to Friday role.
  • 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential opportunity for a permanent role in the future.
