About the Role: Senior Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution

Location: Flexible in Scotland, with relocation assistance available for candidates living outside of Scotland.

We offer a highly competitive salary of £55,200 - £83,000 per annum, plus a car or car allowance, performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

The SSEN Transmission Delivery Team is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of new High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects throughout Scotland. These projects are being delivered under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework for 2030 to directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero.

The role involves direct management of our civils supply chain and working alongside the Design and HVDC Converter Equipment package teams throughout the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase and then into the Delivery phase.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned project manager to take on a leadership role and drive the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Accountability for the safety, health, and wellbeing of all personnel, as well as environmental aspects of those Transmission project activities being managed, including compliance with our framework behaviour charter and the CDM regulations.

Commercial responsibilities, including contract negotiation, contract awards, and NEC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution with budgetary responsibilities.

Experience of governance, reporting, and management requirements for projects and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior budget responsibilities, ideally £50m+, and confident in managing multiple project execution issues whilst analysing and prioritising key delivery risks and issues for the project on an ongoing basis.
