Job Title: Research and Development Chemist

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Chemist to join their team at their site in Teeside. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Job Summary:

The Research and Development Chemist will be responsible for developing original solutions to material synthesis problems, conducting theoretical and practical work to develop new materials and to develop and improve their accompanying manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in inorganic chemistry, organometallic experience is especially desirable.

Main Duties:
  • Developing original solutions to material synthesis problems.
  • Conducting theoretical and practical work to develop new materials and to develop and improve their accompanying manufacturing processes.
  • Designing and documenting R&D experiment protocols.
  • Conducting theoretical and practical work to resolve customer issues and issues raised by the production team.
Requirements:
  • A PhD degree in inorganic chemistry, organometallic experience is especially desirable.
  • PhD graduates from a relevant project are welcome to apply.
  • Experience working under inert atmospheres (Schlenk line techniques).
  • Strong inorganic and organic synthesis experience.
Location:

This role is located in Teeside and is commutable from as far south as York and as far north as Newcastle.

Salary:

£28,000 - £34,000 depending on experience.
