SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with SEN in a variety of settings, including nurseries, primary, secondary, and special schools.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, other teaching assistants, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic well-being.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, preferably in a teaching assistant role.
  • Knowledge of support and intervention programs for SEND, including behavioral management and additional SEN/SEMH requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and other staff.
  • Patience, nurturing, and kind mindset, with a passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a variety of settings and adapt to changing circumstances.
