Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Health Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a regulatory service and carrying out statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Environmental Health Manager in providing a regulatory service and carrying out statutory duties
  • Investigate complaints relating to commercial premises
  • Collect evidence associated with contraventions for use in court proceedings
  • Oversee works being conducted as a result of legal action
  • Administer various schemes within commercial premises
  • Undertake any duties assigned by the Principal Environmental Health Officer / Environmental Health and Licensing Manager
  • Carry out research, monitoring, and provision of information and statistics as required
Requirements
  • BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health and EHRB Certificate of Registration
  • Solid experience of producing clear and accurate reports, including problem-solving solutions
  • Good level of experience of dealing with complaints/enquiries from members of the public
  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience working within Environmental Health Services or the work covered by the post (e.g. noise/pollution/contaminated land)
  • Good understanding of PACE, CPIA, RIPA, and other Acts associated with investigations
  • Prepared to work out of hours on a monthly basis
