About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Stress Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all stress-related activities concerning the assessment of structural integrity and safety of aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead comprehensive stress analyses, including static, fatigue, damage tolerance, and dynamic calculations.
  2. Collaborate closely with design, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of stress analysis throughout the product development process.
  3. Review and approve drawings, engineering documentation, change proposals, customer deliverables, and concessions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of classical analysis methods, including mechanical components, classical stress methods, strength of materials, static and fatigue strength calculations.
  • Experience with software tools such as Abaqus, MathCAD, and Catia.
  • Detailed knowledge of structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including linear, contact, dynamic analysis, vibration analysis, and non-linear materials/plasticity analysis.
