Accounts Assistant Job Description

Page Personnel Finance is partnering with a successful business to find an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their accountancy team on a full-time permanent basis.

Our client is a rapidly growing business based in Southampton, requiring occasional travel to their offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and enter data into accounting systems.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Verify bank statements align with internal records to prevent discrepancies.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with journal entries and financial close processes to ensure timely completion.
  • Expense Reporting: Verify and process employee claims to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Administrative Support: Handle finance-related queries and provide general assistance to the team.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role (entry-level options available).
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, including data analysis and reporting.
