Job Summary
The School of Science at Loughborough University is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Postgraduate Research Officer. This position involves working closely with colleagues from the Doctoral College Office, the School's Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, and the Director of Doctoral Programmes to deliver exceptional customer service and manage the day-to-day administration of the School's postgraduate research provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment, administration, and progression processes for postgraduate research students, including studentships, grant, and fellowship applications.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory changes and embed best practices in postgraduate research administration.
- Provide administrative support to the School's research community, including coordinating events, managing databases, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to enhance the postgraduate research experience and improve student outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to providing an outstanding service and ability to work flexibly in a changing environment.
- Excellent practical IT skills and ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
- Ability to work independently and lead administration processes, with a background in postgraduate research administration being desirable.
