Job Title: High-Level Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site visits)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our education support team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of students in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Support: Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Small Group Sessions: Lead small group sessions and one-on-one interventions, focusing on both academic and pastoral needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Individualized Education Plans: Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students during non-structured times, such as lunch and break periods.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings, training sessions, and school events as part of the wider school community.
  • Professional Development: Uphold the school's values and commitment to inclusivity, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must hold a recognized HLTA qualification.
  • Experience: Proven experience working as a HLTA or in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and the ability to support students across various subjects.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.

Desirable:

  • Special Educational Needs Experience: Experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • First Aid Training: First aid training or willingness to undertake training.
