About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Therapeutic Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted 'outstanding' multi-academy trust. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and will work as part of a team responsible for developing, improving, and delivering exciting provisions for children who require a nurturing, positive approach to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize effective communication skills to establish rapport and build positive relationships with pupils.
- Employ therapeutic approaches to support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour.
- Provide immediate support to pupils experiencing emotional distress or challenging behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents and interventions, adhering to school policies.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within an SEMH therapeutic special school.
- Familiarity with therapeutic interventions for supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Relevant training or qualifications in behaviour management or related fields would be advantageous.
- All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
