Role Overview

As a highly skilled HVDC/Utilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the management of electricity & gas assets for a major player in the NI Energy Sector. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive success in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Transmission System Operators and other stakeholders on technical issues, ensuring Grid Code compliance.
  • Monitor system performance and identify performance issues relating to availability, reliability, and power quality, through detailed analysis of available data, and investigation of control system behavior.
  • Act as Technical Lead for control, protection, and communication systems issues, liaising with Siemens Energy and other consultants, to resolve any emerging issues promptly and effectively.
  • Effectively manage and continue to develop relationships with a diverse range of contractors, consultants, and other electricity sector stakeholders.
  • Communicate confidently and clearly with senior management, colleagues, industry leaders, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • A 3rd-level education in a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience within the electricity generation, power engineering, or utilities sectors.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: High Voltage Direct Current electricity transmission, High Voltage SCADA and control & protection systems, Programmable Logic Controllers within the energy sector.
