Marlborough Highways is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team. Based in Chelmsford, this role will involve working across five depots in Essex and North London, ensuring our fleet of vehicles and plant are in good working order. A company van will be provided for travel between sites.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake scheduled and ad-hoc repair, servicing, and maintenance of heavy and light commercial vehicles and plant across the five depots.
* Work in a workshop environment, with time spent on-site for routine maintenance and breakdowns.
* Collaborate with a small team to ensure repairs are dealt with promptly and recorded accurately within our electronic system.
* Maintain vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspection.
* Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and attend to breakdowns.
* Ensure good housekeeping and adhere to H&S requirements.

Requirements:

* Hold a qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance.
* Experience in a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance environment.
* Strong technical background and ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively.
* Previous working experience as a HGV Mechanic.
* Full UK driving license essential.
* HGV license preferred but not essential.
