Job Title: Lead Composite Designer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Composite Designer to join our Andretti Cadillac team at the Silverstone facility. As a key member of our composite design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of composite components and associated tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering solutions by creating layouts and schemes for major composite assemblies, ensuring optimal design and functionality.
  • Take ownership of all composite projects run by your group, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Head of Composites.
  • Create CAD models and drawings for analysis and detail design.
  • Support your group to provide complete information for composite production processes, including materials, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to composite designers in your group, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably CATIA 3DX, with a proven track record of producing accurate and efficient designs.
  • Extensive knowledge of composite component design.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and their properties.
  • Knowledge or experience of composites manufacture.
  • Ability to plan and manage your group's workloads.
  • Ability to line manage / lead teams effectively.
  • Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
  • Ability to prioritize in a time-pressured environment and manage personal deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently, while meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
