About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows System Administrator Lead to join our team at the University of Glasgow. As a lead administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical support for Windows and Office 365 services, as well as managing Hyper-V servers and implementing changes to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

You will work closely with senior colleagues to identify trends or emerging issues that may require further planning or mitigation. Your excellent technical knowledge of managing Windows systems, data protection, and orchestration technologies is essential for this position.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary of £40,247 - £45,163 per annum, relocation assistance where necessary, and a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme and flexible working arrangements.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Day-to-day support for Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange services.
  2. Providing guidance to staff on IT requirements.
  3. Managing Hyper-V servers and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  4. Configuring physical and virtual servers.
  5. Liaising with the IT Security Team to implement security changes.
  6. Proactive monitoring of servers to prevent service outages.
