We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Neurorehabilitation Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit in London.

The unit provides specialist treatment to patients with physical and cognitive impairments resulting from acquired or traumatic brain injuries. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, nursing, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and social work professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deputising for the Lead Occupational Therapist and providing leadership to the team
  • Developing and implementing safe, innovative, evidence-based treatments underpinned by neuroplasticity and motor re-learning principles
  • Planning and prioritising a complex clinical caseload
  • Assisting the multidisciplinary team in diagnosis, problem formulation, and planning of rehabilitation programmes
  • Functioning as a Key Worker/Named Therapist to ensure active coordination and management of the therapeutic programme
  • Playing a key role in planning safe discharges
  • Prescribing and providing equipment for patients during their rehabilitation journey
  • Providing intervention as part of a multidisciplinary approach and being involved in service developments
  • Maintaining records and clinical notes in line with company policy and RCOT guidelines
  • Ensuring effective and timely communication at all levels
  • Developing and delivering in-service education and training programmes for the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Supervising junior members of staff

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • HCPC registration
  • RCOT registration
  • Previous experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Ability to motivate patients over long periods
  • Supervision experience
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
