We are seeking a Family Health Specialist to join our team at Macclesfield Primary Care Network.

About the Role

This salaried position is funded by ARRS and offers a unique opportunity to enhance patient care in our community.

The successful candidate will work alongside our community teams to provide acute visits to housebound patients, promoting high-quality healthcare services.

This role is based on the BMA contract, with 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) and one week study leave (pro rata).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, evidence-based patient care within the surgery or patients' own home.
  • Recognise the need for and perform investigatory procedures, including laboratory and radiology.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately in complex situations.
  • Support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles and self-care strategies.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated prescriptions.
  • Review medications according to NICE/local clinical guidelines.
  • Aware of practice policies/guidelines and legislation.
