Role Overview

The CAMHS Support Worker plays a pivotal role in ensuring young people and their families have a clear understanding of treatment plans, receiving necessary support to engage in the therapeutic process. This role involves conducting Session 0 after initial assessment and treatment plan formulation by a practitioner.

Main Responsibilities\
  • \
  • Session 0 Engagement: Meet with the young person and family (if applicable) to explain and discuss the treatment plan formulated by the practitioner, ensuring they fully comprehend the plan's goals and components.\
  • Barriers to Engagement: Identify and address any obstacles hindering the CYP's participation in treatment, providing guidance and support to mitigate these barriers.\
  • Introduction of Psychoeducation E-Platform: Familiarize the CYP and family with the psychoeducation e-platform, explaining how it can be used to access additional resources and information that complements treatment.\
  • Booking Treatment Slots: Assist in scheduling the CYP's course of treatment, ensuring first available and accessible slots are booked considering individual needs and preferences.\
  • Co-facilitation: Collaborate with team members to co-facilitate treatment programs addressing mental health needs of young people, working closely with practitioners to implement treatment plans effectively.\
  • Evidence-Based Parenting Programs: Assist in delivering evidence-based parenting programs providing guidance and support to parents and caregivers, enhancing parenting skills and improving family dynamics.\
  • Admin Support: Offer clinical admin support ensuring locality team's efficient functioning, involving assistance with scheduling, maintaining records, and coordinating team activities.\
  • DNAs: Actively follow up on cases where young people do not attend scheduled appointments, rescheduling and supporting them as needed.\

This role requires flexibility in working hours, accommodating young clients' availability, and will involve evening and weekend activities. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to different locations are also required.
