Mechanical Engineer for Fire and Security Installations

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at 1st Step. As a key member of our fire and security team, you will be responsible for managing installations from start-up through to completion and providing technical support during the construction phase.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and their application in building systems and construction practices. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

This position involves:

  1. Management of installations from start-up through to completion;
  2. Technical support during the construction phase;
  3. Installation and testing of fire and security systems to relevant codes of practice;
  4. Excellent communication through all levels of the contract chain.

In terms of qualifications and experience, we require:

  • Solid mechanical knowledge related to building systems and construction practices;
  • Experience with system design, particularly in relation to fire and security applications;
  • Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in installation processes;
  • Understanding of electrical systems as they pertain to fire safety equipment.

The salary for this position is estimated at £36,000.00 per year, depending on experience, based on a 40-hour working week. Benefits include a company van (for business use only), phone, laptop, and tablet.
