Job Title: Senior Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and chartered Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering design solutions for critical water infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on Thames Water projects.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, structural integrity, and water treatment processes, ensuring all designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
  • Produce design calculations and drawings.
  • Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
  • Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
  • Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
  • Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
  • Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
  • Estimate hours required for design packages
  • Present and attend IDC meetings and design presentations
Requirements:
  • 10 years' relevant design experience in structural and/or civil engineering
  • Graduate or HND
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • Registered with professional body and working towards chartership
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
  • Chartered engineer
  • Experience in temporary works design, structures and civil engineering
  • Awareness of construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
  • Experience working in the utilities, water or railway industries
  • Proficient in TEDs, Ansys, STAAD and/or MATHCAD
