Stock & Purchasing Controller Job Description

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is partnering with a manufacturing company in the Chesterfield area to find a skilled Stock & Purchasing Controller.

This role reports directly to the Stock & Purchasing Manager and involves:

  • Implementing and maintaining effective stock management systems and procedures using Microsoft D364
  • Managing purchase orders for stock, consumables, and ad-hoc items as required
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality products
  • Providing weekly and monthly stock balance reports to stakeholders
  • Achieving site performance targets in line with agreed deadlines and key performance indicators
  • Conducting periodic inventory checks and investigating significant variances as per established procedures
  • Processing daily stock transfers and performing general administrative tasks related to stock management
  • Reporting supplier quality issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Has experience in procurement or purchasing, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures
  • Is seeking a permanent position with a stable and reputable employer
  • Is proficient in Microsoft applications and has excellent organizational and communication skills

This is a full-time position with a standard 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday. The salary is £24,000 per annum.
