Are you an experienced ASD Education Specialist with a commitment to supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? Step Teachers is looking for a dedicated and empathetic ASD Education Specialist to become part of our specialized ASD program at a well-respected educational institution in Norfolk. ASD Education Specialist – Responsibilities:

  • Instruct a small group of twelve students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Design and execute tailored lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of students with ASD.
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of 4 Teaching Assistants to foster a nurturing and structured educational environment.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the Year 2/3 curriculum and modify teaching strategies to accommodate the varied needs of students.
  • Ensure a clean, organized classroom with easily accessible resources to enhance student learning.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators within the classroom and across the institution.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, interactive, and dynamic lessons.

ASD Education Specialist – Qualifications:

  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent credential.
  • Have recent experience in either a mainstream or specialized primary educational setting, particularly with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Demonstrate a sincere passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
