Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician - Equipment Specialist to join our team at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and making repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
    • Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and machinery, making repairs as needed
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
  • Condition Monitoring
    • Monitor equipment and machinery condition to identify potential issues before they become major problems
    • Perform regular inspections and tests to ensure equipment and machinery are operating within acceptable parameters
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory of spare parts and materials to ensure availability when needed
    • Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in maintenance and repair
    • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
    • Time served maintenance technician with 5 years related industrial maintenance experience or equivalent
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Practical knowledge of mechanical installation and fitting
    • Practical knowledge of electrical installations and wiring
    • Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic motion control systems
    • Practical knowledge of PLC systems
    • Practical knowledge of industrial robotics
    • Web handling experience
  • Personal Attributes
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work on own initiative and without direct supervision
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
