Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work with children and young people who display challenging behaviour, providing person-centred support to help them overcome their difficulties.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. You will work in a school setting, supporting children and young people who require 1:1 support due to various reasons such as anxiety, exclusion, speech and language difficulties, physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals who display challenging behaviour
  • Work with children and young people who require 1:1 support
  • Develop and implement behaviour management plans
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective support
  • Enhance skills with professional training and development
Requirements
  • Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
  • De-escalation training would be advantageous
  • Confidence to make decisions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Empathy and understanding
