Health and Safety Coordinator

About the Role:
VanRath is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to support the SHEQ Manager in ensuring compliance and implementation of all aspects of the company SHEQ Management System. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with experience working in the engineering or construction industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the SHEQ Manager and all managers, championing health and safety systems, conducting audits and inspections, maintaining supplier and contractor lists, and assisting with basic induction training. They will also maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative approach. The ability to foster strong working relationships with all stakeholders is essential. Experience working with SHEQ management systems, auditing, and risk assessments is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SHEQ Manager in achieving compliance and implementation of all aspects of the company SHEQ Management System.
- Champion health and safety systems, activities, and projects, promoting a safe working environment.
- Maintain supplier and contractor approved lists.
- Conduct SHEQ audits and inspections at Company premises and Project sites.
- Assist with basic induction training - manual handling, workstation assessments.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Qualifications:
- IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health Principles & Practices / NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety qualification.
- GCSE Maths & English Grade C and above.
- At least 2 years' experience of working in Health and Safety in the workplace.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
