Forensic Psychiatrist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Dewnans Centre, a medium-security hospital. As a key member of our forensic psychiatry service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in forensic psychiatry, with experience in assessing and managing patients with severe mental illness. You will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership, and contributing to the development of our forensic psychiatry service.

Key Responsibilities- Lead a multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.
- Contribute to the development of our forensic psychiatry service, including the design and implementation of new programs and services.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
- Participate in the assessment and management of patients with severe mental illness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council.
- Eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
- Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- CCT/CESR in forensic Psychiatry.
- Management training / experience.
