About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Audit Director to join our team at Very Group. As a key member of our Internal Audit function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our risk management and governance processes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in auditing and risk management, with experience of working in a complex, commercial organisation. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Internal Audit strategy, as well as managing the delivery of our audit plan to the agreed timescales and standards.

You will work closely with our stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and will be responsible for ensuring that our audit findings are implemented effectively. You will also be required to deputise for the Group Head of Internal Audit at key committees as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Internal Audit strategy and plan.
  • Lead the delivery of audits to the agreed timescales and standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure that audit findings are implemented effectively.
  • Deputise for the Group Head of Internal Audit at key committees as required.
About You
  • You will be a qualified auditor or accountant with recent experience operating in a complex, commercial organisation.
  • You will have strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • You will possess a high level of integrity and be able to challenge upwards and cross-functionally.
  • You will be resilient, highly flexible, and self-motivated, with a commercial outlook and the ability to see the impact from a variety of standpoints.
  • You will be technically excellent, with the intellectual capacity to deal with complexity and communicate complex matters in simple terms.
  • You will have demonstrable organisational skills and experience of managing a team of Auditors.
