Job Title: Lead Software Certification Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Certification Engineer to join our team at GE Aerospace. As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the software certification efforts for certification planning and regulatory compliance oversight for assigned projects and products.

With a strong background in software development and certification, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and experienced team of engineers who are passionate about ensuring full-lifecycle readiness as it relates to safety, certification, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead programs in determining product certification strategy and certification basis
  • Lead compliance planning and determination of means of compliance
  • Support creation of cohesive project plans
  • Review development artefacts and perform certification audit pre-assessments
  • Audit project / product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis
  • Support Customer AR / Regulatory Authority audits
  • Collaborate with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit findings
Requirements:
  • Direct design experience/knowledge with airborne software development and/or certification experience in a RTCA/DO-178B or C environment
  • Working with regulatory compliance related to RTCA/DO-178C
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge and experience

Security Clearance:

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
