Job Title: Lead Software Certification Engineer Job Summary: GE Aviation is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Certification Engineer to lead the software certification efforts for certification planning and regulatory compliance oversight for assigned projects and products. The successful candidate will have direct design experience/knowledge with airborne software development and/or certification experience in a RTCA/DO-178B or C environment. Key Responsibilities: * Lead programs in determining product certification strategy and certification basis * Lead compliance planning and determination of means of compliance * Support/contribution to creation of cohesive project plans * Review of development artefacts, where applicable * Perform certification audit pre-assessments both of internal projects and external suppliers * Audit project/product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis * Support to Customer AR/Regulatory Authority audits * Support and collaboration with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit Findings/Actions/Observations Requirements: * Direct design experience/knowledge with airborne software development and/or certification experience in a RTCA/DO-178B or C environment * Working with regulatory compliance related to RTCA/DO-178C * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge and experience Desired Characteristics: * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously * Effective problem identification and solution skills * Proven analytical and organisational ability Benefits: * Performance based annual bonus * Non-contributory Pension * Life Assurance * Group income protection * Private medical cover * Holiday Hourly equivalent of 26 days, with flexible option to buy or sell Security Clearance: Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
