We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Diabetes Psychiatry and Psychology Service (DPPS) as part of the adult diabetes team at King's College Hospital.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological screening, assessment, and treatment to patients with type 1/complex type 2 diabetes and associated psychological difficulties.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide specialist psychological screening, assessment, and treatment to patients with type 1/complex type 2 diabetes and associated psychological difficulties.
- Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide psychological expertise and support.
- Develop and implement individual and group-based interventions to address issues around adjustment to the condition, effective diabetes management, and psychological and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with a consultant psychiatrist to manage and support the various levels of mental health needs within the diabetes patient cohort.
- Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional).
- Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent).
- Completed training course in clinical supervision.
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.
- Evidence of having worked with people with medical conditions as a clinical specialist under supervision.
