Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Climate Analyst Lead to join our Climate Change team in the UK. As a Senior Climate Analyst Lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality climate change consultancy services to a wide range of clients globally.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and taking responsibility for the delivery of carbon footprinting, lifecycle assessment, and carbon management projects.
  • Ensuring successful delivery of projects to quality, time, and budget requirements.
  • Assessing the performance of projects against national and international standards as well as industry best practices.
  • Informing the development of project design with regards to operational and embodied carbon.
  • Providing strategic advice to clients to align their policies and processes to achieve net zero ambitions.
  • Developing data analysis as part of carbon assessment, ensuring traceability and robust calculations.
  • Reporting writing and presenting final results to our clients.
  • Being actively involved in the climate change community in Mott MacDonald with a focus on decarbonisation.
  • Mentoring more junior staff to help build their own carbon skills and capabilities, with potential for line management.
  • Preparing bid submissions and developing opportunities, working in collaboration with Account Leaders and carbon specialists across a broad range of clients within the Transport, Water, Built Environment and Energy sectors.
  • Having experience in the delivery of carbon footprinting / lifecycle assessment (LCA) / carbon management projects across a range of project types (delivery against scope, quality, and budget), especially in the infrastructure sector.
  • Holding good knowledge of legislation and policy influencing carbon and climate change, of key methodologies and data sources associated with carbon footprinting and carbon management, such as ISO14064, PAS2060, PAS2080.
  • Holding good knowledge of efforts in the industry to reduce the carbon impact of energy, transportation, construction and the built environment.
  • Having capacity for flexible delivery – ability to think strategically as well as deliver shorter term detail.
  • Having experience of net zero, carbon in construction, and environmental impact assessment, and working within EIA teams.
  • Holding a degree/post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Having understanding of related environmental topics such as air quality and climate change adaptation and resilience.
  • Holding knowledge of low-carbon materials/processes/innovations in construction and the built environment.
  • Having experience in the use of LCA tools such as OneClick, E-Tool, SimaPro.
