About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support Worker/Buddy to join our team and support a vibrant 19-year-old with severe learning difficulties, autism, and epilepsy. As a Support Worker/Buddy, you will be responsible for providing companionship, support, and care to our client, Amy, on a variety of adventures around town.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and support to Amy on a variety of activities, including outdoor spaces, trips to the countryside, and visits to her grandparents.
  • Assist Amy with personal care, such as dressing, showering, and using the toilet.
  • Help Amy build her independence and social skills through play and exploration.
  • Think on your feet and keep Amy safe in a variety of situations.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with a young adult with additional needs is essential.
  • Ability to stay calm and think sensibly in emergency situations, such as seizures.
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a love of adventure are a must.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and school holidays.
