About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team at Richie & Co. Executive Recruitment. As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for owning all operational elements of our compliance program, ensuring that our day-to-day compliance activities are completed in a timely manner and in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the operational elements of our compliance and financial crime function, including onboarding customers in line with our policies, reviewing screening and monitoring alerts and responding to information requests from our banks.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve and streamline existing processes in relation to all aspects of compliance operations and collaborate with other business teams as needed, whilst ensuring that regulatory requirements are met.
  • Become Capi's subject matter expert for onboarding customers across all geographies, with a detailed understanding of UK regulatory requirements including those as outlined in the JMLSG Guidelines and the Money Laundering Regulations.
  • Update, test and optimise external vendor tools for onboarding, screening and transaction monitoring, in conjunction with the MLRO.
  • Escalate suspicious activity to the MLRO, and support them with reviewing and submitting both internal and external SARs as needed.
  • Support the Compliance Officer with due diligence documentation relating to Capi's growth plans including with other banks, PSPs, and regulators.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and French
  • 2-5 years' work experience in a compliance operations role, ideally in a regulated Fintech
  • Detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements with regard to KYB, CDD and EDD in the UK
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Be a skilful and determined problem solver, embracing the challenge of applying local regulatory expectations to developing markets such as Africa
