Key Highlights of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in an Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harlow. This full-time contract role is ideal for someone who is committed to supporting young people who may face challenges in mainstream education.

As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a structured and nurturing environment, encouraging students to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with behavioural or social-emotional challenges.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and managing the classroom.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom setting.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster a supportive and safe learning environment for all students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a PRU or alternative provision setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with patience and empathy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
