About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Construction Resources Limited. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our business by providing accurate and detailed estimates, tenders, and budget proposals to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Tendering
    • Compile accurate estimates, tenders, and budget costs using company historical data and industry knowledge.
    • Identify opportunities and risks during the tender process.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Liaise with the Business Unit, Pre-Construction Manager, and Bid Manager to ensure a smooth delivery process.
    • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Estimating Documentation and Presentations
    • Prepare all necessary estimating documentation, including tender submissions and presentations.
    • Lead estimating presentations at Tender Launches, Settlements, and Handover Meetings.
  • Commercial Acumen and Value Engineering
    • Maintain a register of key assumptions within estimates and highlight commercial issues with the Pre-Construction Manager.
    • Adopt a proactive approach to support value engineering targets.
  • Team Support and Development
    • Provide ongoing support to delivery teams.
    • Support other estimators throughout the estimating process, including coaching and mentoring.
Requirements
  • Essential Attributes
    • Sound experience in construction methodology and estimating process.
    • Broad knowledge of the construction sector and building processes.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Dedication and high attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages and estimating software.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
    • Ability to coach and mentor.
    • Strong bid and commercial acumen.
    • Ability to perform successfully in a challenging working environment.
    • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Desirable Attributes
    • Construction-related qualification.
    • 5+ years estimating experience.
