Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Industrial Maintenance Apprentice to join our team at Briggs Equipment Ltd. This 4-year apprenticeship program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Forklift Truck & Powered Access Engineer.

Job Description

As an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment. You will work closely with experienced engineers, starting with shadowing and progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified engineers where your work will be checked and signed off.

You will also gain on-the-job experience, working on customers' premises and at our workshop locations. Upon successful completion of the program and subject to satisfactory performance, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer with a starting salary expectation of £30,000+ dependent on location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment
  • Work effectively with mentor, line manager, customers, and other team members to deliver high-quality services
  • Develop strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing situations
