Mechanical Systems Designer

Exciting opportunity to work with a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Barrow.
The RoleA vacancy has arisen for a professional Senior Mechanical Engineer to work within Weapon Systems UK, within the research and technology team.
As part of the Platforms and Services organisation, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures and supports artillery systems, naval guns, small and medium calibre barrels and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE systems business.
- Lead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of an integrated project team, reporting to Technical Leads and directly to the customer.
- Developing design solutions based on customer or internally derived requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process.
- Review and check design work and technical reports, providing help and direction to less experienced engineers.
This is an ideal position for those with an engineering background in a weapons system or design for military use.
Candidates should have experience with structural / stress analysis, system control, hydraulic system design, material selection and manufacturing techniques.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as PTC Creo, is also essential.
