About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lymphoedema Nurse Therapist to join our team at South Bucks Hospice. As a key member of our Lymphoedema team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and treatment to patients suffering from Lymphoedema.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide treatment and care to patients with Lymphoedema, ensuring their comfort and long-term health care needs are met.
  • Work with the team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, using a patient-centered approach and evidence-based practice.
  • Evaluate referrals from medical and non-medical practitioners, and carry out initial assessments for those referred for Lymphoedema.
  • Support community teams in their practice of patients with Lymphoedema.
  • Refer appropriately to other professionals both internally and externally.
  • Maintain patient safety and provide physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and carers.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with professional, ethical patient assessments, care plans, and note-taking.
  • Deliver education on the management of Lymphoedema as agreed with the Head of Lymphoedema.
  • Support the department and all activities to ensure compliance with NICE and CQC guidelines.
  • Manage patient caseloads in accordance with South Bucks Hospice's policies and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Head of Lymphoedema in their absence.
  • Support service development and achievement of department aims and objectives.
  • Be involved in clinical and hospice initiatives as required to achieve the strategic aims of South Bucks Hospice.
About Us

South Bucks Hospice at Butterfly House is a day hospice supporting patients living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. We offer patient-centered care to individuals through the provision of specialist palliative, psychotherapeutic, and Lymphoedema care. We also support their families and carers.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Appropriate Nursing Qualification and minimum of two years' experience within a similar position.
  • Good understanding of Lymphoedema.
  • Demonstrate a consistent high standard of work and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and verbal skills.
  • Advance Excel and Word skills.
  • Punctual and presentable.
  • Approachable and accessible.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Communicate with empathy and understanding towards patients and staff.
  • Ability to listen and act appropriately.
  • Effective Communications with colleagues and Management team.
  • Calm temperament under pressured conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to patient locations.
