About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at Vanquis Banking Group. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the group's tax strategy is implemented effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the principles set out in the Group's published Tax Strategy and the accompanying Tax Procedures Manual are adhered to.
- Work with the Head of Tax/Deputy Head of Tax in ensuring tax advice is provided on all corporate transactions that the group undertakes.
- Develop VAT knowledge to assist with VAT returns and carry out a technical review and sense check of the UK VAT group's VAT returns prior to submission.
- Develop employment taxes knowledge including share schemes and off-payroll working.
- Work with the business units and other members of the Group Tax team to develop and maintain robust systems, process and internal controls to ensure the correctness and completeness of data for tax reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a tax manager gained from working in a similar in-house function or in the profession.
- Excellent tax technical knowledge in at least one tax specialism.
- General knowledge of other areas of tax consistent with someone operating at a manager level.
- Good working knowledge of relevant tax legislation and related HMRC guidance.
