Job Title: Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at Vanquis Banking Group. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the group's tax strategy is implemented effectively and efficiently.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a tax manager in a similar in-house function or profession. You will have excellent tax technical knowledge in at least one tax specialism and a good working knowledge of relevant tax legislation and HMRC guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to the group's published tax strategy and accompanying tax procedures manual.
  • Provide tax advice on all corporate transactions, including investments, divestments, corporate reorganisations, and employee awards.
  • Support business units on commercial and operational transactions, ensuring tax is factored into project economics.
  • Stay updated on developments in tax law and regulations affecting the group.
  • Assist with the management of the group's UK compliance process to ensure compliance with CT obligations, including CT returns and payments.
  • Develop VAT knowledge to assist in ensuring correct VAT return preparation.
  • Develop employment taxes knowledge, including share schemes and off-payroll working.
  • Assist with operational taxes reporting and compliance.
